Welcome to Yoshihara Lab

Yoshihara Laboratory – Decoding Development for Therapeutic Discovery

Our central mission is to uncover the fundamental principles of life and physiology in order to develop transformative treatments for human diseases. We take a basic science-driven approach, leveraging state-of-the-art biomedical technologies to understand organogenesis and disease mechanisms. Our research focuses on spatial gene expression and metabolic regulation during development. We aim to translate these biological insights into therapeutic strategies, particularly for diabetes and other metabolic disorders. To achieve this, we use a multidisciplinary platform that includes pluripotent stem cells and tissue-specific adult stem cell models, along with advanced multiomics approaches such as genomics, proteomics, metabolomics, and biochemical analysis. For in vivo validation, we utilize genetic mouse models to study physiological and pathological processes. In addition to our basic and translational research, we are committed to developing new biotechnologies that can improve human health and benefit society at large.

The Yoshihara Lab is growing and always open to new ideas and collaboration.
